Healthy StartHealthy Start ABCs is a federally funded community health program that aims to reduce the incidence of infant mortality and health disparity in north Louisiana.
Healthy Start ABCs currently serves 11 parishes in rural north Louisiana and relies on outreach, case management, and health education interventions to assure the delivery of perinatal care to women and their young children. In collaboration with HRSA, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals/Office of Public Health and other community partners, health and social interventions, as well as case management services are provided for Healthy Start clients. To find out more about Health Start activities in your area contact NLAHEC's Director of Maternal and Child Programming, LaRhonda Coleman.
